Who We Are

About Clean Electric Supply

Organized notes and curated reading materials — the daily practice at Clean Electric Supply
Our Story

Founded in Tokyo, Built on Curiosity

Clean Electric Supply was founded in 2018 in the heart of Shinjuku, Tokyo, by a small circle of editors and researchers who believed the pace of modern information had grown too fast — and too shallow. They set out to build something different: a publication where ideas could breathe.

Inspired by the enduring clarity of Mount Fuji — visible through the urban haze on only the clearest of days — the name became a quiet declaration of intent. Insight is earned through stillness. We slow down so our readers do not have to search alone.

What began as a monthly newsletter shared among colleagues has grown into a trusted daily reading destination for thousands of thoughtful professionals across Japan and around the world. Our mission remains unchanged: to curate, synthesise, and present ideas that enrich the examined life.

Our Mission

Three Pillars of Our Philosophy

Every piece of work we publish is shaped by three guiding principles — the values that define how we read, how we write, and how we think.

Clarity

Complex ideas deserve precise language. We strip away jargon and noise to deliver meaning that is immediately useful and genuinely understood.

Depth

Surface-level summaries satisfy no one. We go beneath the headline to trace context, cause, and consequence — giving readers the full picture.

Calm

Reading should feel like a conversation over tea, not a fire drill. Our tone is measured, unhurried, and designed for genuine contemplation.

The Team

The People Behind the Pages

A small, dedicated team of editors, writers, and researchers — united by a love of ideas and a belief that slow journalism matters.

Mio ensures every claim we publish is grounded and every source is sound. Her rigour is the quiet backbone that gives Clean Electric Supply its credibility.

A quiet moment of shared reading — the spirit behind Clean Electric Supply
We believe that reading, at its best, is not a solitary act — it is an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to look again, and to understand just a little more about the world we share. That is the spirit in which every page of Clean Electric Supply is made.
